Hey there! Thanks for choosing BlockBud. These terms of service explain the rules for using our app. We tried to make this as straightforward as possible, but there's some legal stuff we need to cover.

What BlockBud Is

BlockBud is an iOS app that helps you manage screen time by:

• Blocking apps and websites you choose
• Creating customizable "shield screens" when blocked apps are opened
• Tracking your focus sessions and progress
• Helping you build better digital habits

It uses Apple's Screen Time API to do all this. The app is designed for personal use to help YOU manage YOUR screen time on YOUR device.

Who Can Use BlockBud

You can use BlockBud if:

• You're 13 years or older (if you're under 13, you need parent/guardian permission)
• You have an iPhone running iOS 17.2 or later
• You agree to these terms
• You're not prohibited from using the app by law

Your Rights & License

When you download BlockBud, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app. In normal words, that means:

• ✅ You can use BlockBud on your own devices
• ✅ You can customize it however you want (that's the whole point!)
• ✅ You can tell friends about it (we'd love that!)
• ❌ You can't resell, redistribute, or copy the app
• ❌ You can't reverse engineer or modify the app code
• ❌ You can't use it for anything illegal or harmful

What We Provide

Your Responsibilities

When using BlockBud, you agree to:

• Use it responsibly: BlockBud is a tool to help you focus. Use it in a way that's actually helpful
• Respect others: Don't use BlockBud on someone else's device without their permission
• Follow the law: Don't use the app for anything illegal
• Keep your device secure: You're responsible for your device and account security
• Give us feedback: If something's broken or could be better, let us know!

App Updates & Changes

We'll regularly update BlockBud to add features, fix bugs, and improve performance. Here's how updates work:

• Updates are delivered through the App Store
• Some updates may require iOS system updates
• We might add, modify, or remove features (but we'll try not to remove stuff you love)
• Major changes will be communicated through the app

Screen Time API & iOS Integration

BlockBud uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework). This means:

• You need to grant Screen Time permissions for the app to work
• The app's blocking features depend on iOS functionality
• Some features may be affected by iOS updates or changes to Apple's APIs
• Certain iOS restrictions may affect how BlockBud works

Pricing & Payments

BlockBud's pricing model:

• Currently, the app is available through the App Store
• Check the App Store listing for current pricing
• All payments are processed through Apple
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
• Pricing may change for future updates (but we'll always be fair)

If we move to a subscription model in the future, we'll give existing users plenty of notice and fair upgrade options.

Privacy & Data

This is important: BlockBud doesn't collect your data. Everything stays on your device.

For the full details, check out our Privacy Policy, but here's the key point: your screen time data, app usage, focus sessions, and customizations are stored locally on your iPhone. We don't have access to it, we don't collect it, and we don't sell it.

Disclaimers & Limitations

Here's the legal stuff we have to say:

• BlockBud helps with focus, but you're ultimately responsible for managing your screen time
• The app may not work perfectly on all devices or iOS versions
• Features depend on Apple's APIs and may change or break with iOS updates
• We're not responsible for any consequences of using (or not being able to use) the app

That said, if something's broken, please let us know so we can fix it!

Limitation of Liability

In plain English: we're not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or other consequential losses from using BlockBud.

Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. If something goes wrong, we'll work with you to make it right, but we're a small team doing our best.

Termination

You can stop using BlockBud anytime by:

• Deleting the app from your device
• Contacting us to request account termination (if applicable)

We can terminate your access if you:

• Violate these terms
• Use the app for illegal or harmful purposes
• Try to hack, reverse engineer, or abuse the app

But honestly, if you're here reading this and using BlockBud to help yourself focus, we're probably going to get along just fine. 😊

Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms occasionally as the app evolves. When we do:

Intellectual Property

BlockBud, its design, code, and content are owned by KryLabs and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your custom content (shield designs, images, text) belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership over your customizations.

Third-Party Services

BlockBud uses:

• Apple App Store: For distribution and payments (governed by Apple's terms)
• Apple Screen Time API: For blocking functionality (governed by Apple's developer agreements)
• iOS APIs: For core functionality (photos, storage, etc.)

We don't use any tracking, analytics, or advertising third-party services. What you see is what you get.

Governing Law
